Hotels that I recommend

Grand Wyndham Izmir (Izmir, Turkey)

This hotel was affordable and nice and family friendly. The pool was nice but the floor was very hot.

The hotel is near a mall with a playground, restaurants, and a cool naval museum. Even though it is

outside of central Izmir by a few kilometers, there is a shuttle that takes you into town.

Jupiter Hotel (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)

The price is reasonable and the rooms are comfortable. The food was decent. There are fancier hotels

around, but for the price, this one is good.

Akron Hotel (Velikiy Novgorod, Russia)

This is centrally located between the train station and the Novgorod Kremlin. The price is also very

good. The rooms were clean and up-to-date.

Barcelo Lanzarote (Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain)

This all inclusive hotel is not the most fancy, but in the low season, the price was good. The activities

were good for my kids and the food was decent. The kids may or may not have had some ice cream at

       most meals ;)

Planet Lodge Arusha (Arusha, Tanzania)

This hotel is minimalist in many ways, but nice. The grounds were nice, the owner was very nice and

offered me a reduced to stay an extra couple days. The bed with mosquito netting was nice, the

bathroom was clean. The view of Mount Meru is amazing from the hotel grounds.

Premier Inns (throughout the United Kingdom)

This recommendation is more broad. I didn't know about Premier Inn before I moved to the UK. We

have stayed in Premier Inn in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and have always had a

clean room, nothing fancy for sure, but clean and sufficient and way cheaper than many other places.

Check back for more in the very near future.
